YOU have a place in your child's education!
Every member of the community is welcome to volunteer at our school. There are a few basic requirements and things to know before you volunteer:
- Otis A. Mason Elementary School follows all Florida laws and SJCSD policies regarding school safety & security. There are NO exceptions.
- All volunteers must have an approved background check with Raptor. Please call district volunteer services to appeal a decision or further inquire regarding your backgraound check at 904-547-3945.
- Volunteers must have a valid photo ID to sign-in. Once in our system volunteers should wear their volunteer badge throughout the duration of their visit.
- Please arrange your volunteer activity before you arrive. Here is sign-up genius with available opportunities to volunteer. You may also arrange volunteering directly with a classroom teacher!

Otis A. Mason Elementary School is so very lucky to have so many dedicated volunteers. From chaperoning dances and field trips to making copies and helping to decorate, our community of volunteers makes THE difference. Research shows that one of the MOST important factors in a child’s education is parent involvement.
