Title 1 Power Point
Kindergarten Registration is ongoing.  Please come in now to register your child for next year's Kindergarten class!!!
Hello,
Hooray Mason Manatees!  We have completed FCAT testing and are extremely proud of our students for their hard work and sincere effort.  We are confident our students will do well on the newest version of the state assessment test.  Thank you teachers, parents and students for all you do.

All of our Manatee Families are invited to a very special ceremony to honor the memory of Mr. Larry Leonard, the first maintenance manager for Otis A. Mason Elementary School.  Mr. Leonard opened the school in 1992 as an original staff member and was loved by students and staff alike.  We are saddened that Mr. Leonard was so tragically taken from us in early August, 2011.  A memorial, sponsored by the Mason PTA, will be dedicated during the annual “Night of the Arts” on May 10, 2012.  Please join us in celebrating Mr. Leonard’s legacy beginning at 6:00 PM. with a performance by our 4th grade students and exhibits by all of the Mason Elementary students.

I am very excited to announce our SAC/Parental Involvement Policy meeting on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM.  We will be discussing this year’s accomplishments and determining our needs and direction for next year during this meeting.  If you would like to participate in this meeting, please call me at 547-8442 and RSVP by Monday, 4/30/2012 at noon.  Our spring needs assessment survey is also on the school website at this time.  Please take some time to visit www-mes.stjohns.k12.fl.us to complete the survey and help us determine our parent involvement needs for next year.

Administrative Professionals Day was Wednesday, April 27, 2012. We would not be the terrific school we are without the hard work and dedication of our team.  We are indebted to Mrs. Donna King-O’Loughlin, Administrative Secretary/Bookkeeper; Mrs. Marie Lebon, Computer Operator/Registrar; Mrs. Melinda Stevens, Extended Day Coordinator and Mrs. Beverly Newland, Receptionist. These ladies are the glue that keep us all together.  We appreciate them more than they’ll ever know.

As we approach the last few weeks of school, I’d like to remind our families to stay informed and involved in the activities that are occurring at Mason.  Please check your student’s planner, classroom notes, the school website, and this newsletter for information.  Stay in touch with your child’s teacher and feel free to call the office if you have any questions.

Finally, please take some time to review safety and behavioral rules for the school, classroom, and bus with your child.  Students and staff are excited about the beautiful spring weather and plans for the summer.  We want to ensure the end of the school year is as safe as the beginning.

Parents please remember to park and walk your students in if they arrive at school after 8:25 a.m.  Also, please use the parent drop off area to park or drop students off.  Parent drop off in the bus loop is illegal!

Go Manatees!
